Dr. Babis Mainemelis and Dr. Olga Epitropaki received finalist award for the Academy of Management Annals Best Article, for their paper "Creative Leadership: A Multi-Context Conceptualization" written with Ronit Kark.

The article addresses a very timely aspect of leadership, creative leadership. It synthesizes research on creative leadership conducted between 1957 and 2015, and introduces a novel metatheoretical framework of three distinct contextual manifestations of creative leadership: facilitating employee creativity, directing the materialization of a leader’s creative vision, and integrating heterogeneous creative contributions.

2015

Organization of the 31st EGOS Colloquium, July 2–4, 2015 , Athens, Greece

About 2015 Conference

During his trial in classical Athens, Socrates famously stated: "an unexamined life is not worth living". This statement is the most succinct advocacy of philosophy, science, and democracy ever since. The spirit of free and open-ended inquiry, the practice of deliberation, and the commitment to a life that is to be lived neither merely biologically, nor unreflectively according to the conventions of surrounding society, but to be approached as a quest for self-knowledge and autonomy, define what the late Cornelius Castoriadis called "Greco-Western culture". Freed from any particular culture, those features have been, in several variations and forms, defining aspects of modernity.

What better a place to discuss the examined life than Athens, the city in which the possibility for it arose. Socrates, Plato and Aristotle may no longer be around, but their ideas and the Hellenic monuments of classical civilizations are. If theoria is a search for seeing the world (including human life) a little clearer, that search is an interminable journey.

The 2015 EGOS Colloquium aspired to be a lively, thoughtful, and exciting, stop in that journey; an agora of ideas and debates!

The EGOS 2015 logo combines two ancient Greek Elements: a) The owl, symbol of knowledge, wisdom, perspicacity and erudition & b) The art of mosaic. The core concept actually reflects on the theme since the mosaic digits put together can symbolize a thought as a part of a greater idea, a corporation and its impact in the society and the feeling of being part of something bigger and more important.
