2nd Round of the recruitment confidence index (RCI) survey in Greece

Monday, 11/06/2007

The 1st round of the RCI survey which was concluded on January 2007 showed that Greek companies are particularly optimistic regarding the employment of the forthcoming six months. More than 25 press clippings at the Greek press, as well as several references on TV and radio stations, featured the results of the survey during spring 2007. What remains is to examine whether this optimistic state will remain at the Greek labour market for the next six months. Therefore, ALBA Graduate Business School organizes and implements the 2nd round of the survey, which will be conducted during the time period June -July 2007.

RCI was first conducted in UK in 1999 by Cranfield School of Management and Daily Telegraph and in 2005 the survey started in Spain by ESADE. The main objective of the survey is to explore the perceptions and the trends of the companies regarding their recruitment processes and methodologies.  Will companies hire new personnel? In what kind of positions? In which geographical location? At what sector? What kind of method are they going to use in order to select new employees? Do they expect an increase at the salaries? The survey illustrates the dynamics of the labor market and it provides valuable information to the business community and the public in general.

More than 1600 HR executives and top managers have been invited to participate at the on-line survey. The questionnaire will be active until the end of July. The results of the survey will be announced after summer 2007. The survey will continue to take place every 6 months. The 2007 index is implemented with the support of the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) Foundation of Greece. Survey participants will be the first to receive the analytical report and will have the chance to benchmark their recruitment processes with their industry sector.

All participants of the survey that took place on January 2007 are called to participate again in order to reassure the credibility of results. The survey however, is addressed to all Greek companies and the goal is to reach as many as possible, in order for the total yearly results to provide a more accurate reflection of the Greek market.
