22-26/11/2019 Chios

Join Alba in Chios for 5 days of entrepreneurial events, workshops and discussions.

Alba Graduate Business School, with the support of The Hellenic Initiative, will be visiting Chios with the GreenHouse project.  Alba’s entrepreneurship center AHEAD (Alba Hub for Entrepreneurship and Development) has designed a week long schedule of open events that will bring entrepreneurship closer to the island's community.

GreenHouse Chios will take place from November 22 to 26 in different venues throughout the city. The detailed schedule may be found here (in Greek) and it includes workshops supporting business owners in understanding the role of digital tools in business growth, gamified social entrepreneurship sessions for high school students, speed mentoring sessions with established start-uppers and the project’s flagship two day GreenHouse Workshop for idea stage entrepreneurs. All activities will be held in Greek, are free of charge and open to the public.

Each GreenHouse project is co-created with local partners and entrepreneurship champions, both organizations and individuals. In Chios, the Alba team  will be working with the Chamber of Commerce, the “MARIA TSAKOS" Public Benefit Foundation - Centre for Maritime Research and Tradition and the Foundation's High School "Tsakos Enhanced Education Nautical School". The event is under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce.

GreenHouse events are organized in cities throughout Greece with the ultimate goal of supporting entrepreneurs, both acting and aspiring. They consist of free of charge events and workshops that bring together passionate community members. At the same time, GreenHouse introduces entrepreneurial thinking to students and vulnerable groups.

GreenHouse is part of Alba’s entrepreneurship outreach program VentureGarden that has supported over 450 entrepreneurs in southern Greece since 2014. It was co-created with the American College of Thessaloniki that runs the program in Northern Greece. The Hellenic Initiative was the founding and sole sponsor of the program for the first 5 years.
