The event organized by The Economist Event , entitled "Europe Unraveling -Greece Untangling",  took place on June 28th-29th 2017.

Issues discussed were related to Brexit, the election of Donald Trump as the new US president, the rise of populism, the elections in France and Germany as well as the refugee crisis and the security challenges in Europe that convey a strong message for change. In addition given that 2017 is also set to be crucial for Greece’s future as the country strives to stabilize its economy, maintain the momentum of the structural reforms and return to the path of competitiveness and growth, discussion about new investment and opportunities arose.  Will Greece untangle its obstacles while Europe is unravelling?

Dean K. Axarloglou, addressed issues related to Digital Transformation during the panel discussion "As Technology Evolves, Where does Greece Stand?". Along with Mr. Lefteris Kretsos, Secretary-general, Ministry of Digital Policy, Telecommunications and Media, Greece and Mr. Antonis Tzortzakakis, Chief officer, fixed line & B2B, WIND Hellas, he answered some challenging questions like: How do we deal with the effects of technology in management? How do we learn these days? What type of opportunities will digital bring to our country ?

Dr. Axarloglou mentioned “Disruption is disrupting education and makes our current skills obsolete. We need to learn, be brave enough to unlearn and be smart to re-learn!"  He also pointed out that "In the past we had time to adjust. Now we do not have the time and thus agility and adaptability is the name of the game.”
