Dr. Cabolis' research focuses on issues related to mergers, the valuation of changes in corporate governance, price discrimination as well as measuring market power. He has presented his work at conferences in North America, Europe, Asia and Africa and his research has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of Law and Economics and the Review of Financial Studies.
His teaching interests focus in the areas of Business Economics and Corporate Finance. He is the Academic Director of the ALBA MSc In Finance program and Academic Director in the ALBA MSc in Business for Lawyers.
Prior to joining ALBA, Professor Cabolis was the Executive Director of the International Center for Finance (ICF) at the Yale School of Management where he directed the administrative and operational activities of the Center, which ranged from the Center's initiatives in international corporate governance, financial history, and global capital markets, to the research-oriented conferences and special events.
He joined the Yale School of Management from Yale College where he served as Dean of Jonathan Edwards College for 6 years. During that time he was also a Lecturer in the Yale Department of Economics teaching courses on Finance and Industrial Organization.
Dr. Cabolis is the recipient of a number of research grants, most recently from the BSI/Gamma Foundation. He is the recipient of the 2005 First 'Jaime Fernandez de Araoz' Award in Corporate Finance, sponsored by the IEAF (Spanish Institute of Financial Analysts) and Citigroup for the project The Valuation Effect of Corporate Governance Changes: Evidence from Cross-Border Mergers, co-authored with Professor Arturo Bris.
Professor Cabolis is a fellow of the International Center for Finance at the Yale School of Management.
