ALBA ACT ACCREDITATION

Both ALBA and ACT are committed to rigorous scholarship in both research and teaching. The institutions accreditation by two of the most demanding and highly respected international accrediting organizations attests to this commitment.

All graduate degree programs offered by ALBA are accredited by The Association of MBAs which was established in 1967 and is the advocate for MBA education. The Association's accreditation service is internationally recognized as the global standard for all MBA, DBA and PEMM programs. The service was established to ensure that the quality of post-graduate level business education produces professional business leaders. The Association of MBAs now accredits MBA programs at a select 131 business schools in 64 countries worldwide. The AMBA accreditation is independent, market-driven and international in focus. The Association assesses the characteristics of an institution and its programs against a set of criteria established by its International Accreditation Advisory Board (IAAB). The senior academics and corporate representatives who sit on the board constantly monitor the accreditation criteria to reflect changes in business and management. The assessment includes every MBA course provided by an institution, and a program is only recommended for accreditation if every course meets the AMBA criteria. This portfolio accreditation is designed to provide as much clarity as possible to prospective students, who can be sure that where a school has AMBA accreditation, every course on offer is of a consistently high standard. The AMBA accreditation process is rigorous and has become internationally recognized as a mark of quality.

The evaluation for the accreditation is strict and the criteria include the library, IT infrastructure, the level and performance of students, research, and the institution's relations with other international educational institutions as well as the local business market.

The American College of Thessaloniki (ACT), is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), through its Commission on Institutions of Higher Education (NEASC-CIHE). Founded in 1885, the New England Association of Schools & Colleges, Inc. (NEASC), is the U.S.'s oldest regional accrediting association. Its mission is the establishment and maintenance of high standards for all levels education. NEASC currently has accredited through the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education (CIHE). over 225 colleges and universities in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont as well as two institutions in Greece, one in Bulgaria, and three in Switzerland.

The Commission consists of faculty and administrators from affiliated institutions and public members. Accreditation by NEASC serves the dual purposes of quality assurance and quality improvement. The Commission is recognized by the US Department of Education and by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation as a reliable authority on the quality of institutions of higher education.

Accreditation of an institution of higher education by the New England Association indicates that it meets or exceeds criteria for the assessment of institutional quality periodically applied through a peer review process. An accredited college or university is one which has available the necessary resources to achieve its stated purposes through appropriate educational programs, is substantially doing so, and gives reasonable evidence that it will continue to do so in the foreseeable future. Institutional integrity is also addressed through accreditation.

Accreditation by the New England Association is not partial but applies to the institution as a whole. As such, it is not a guarantee of every course or program offered, or the competence of individual graduates. Rather, it provides reasonable assurance about the quality of opportunities available to students who attend the institution.
