European Business Plan of the Year Competition

The ALBA 'MILKLAND SA' student team, selected to represent ALBA at the 2002 European Business Plan of the Year Competition, held on June 10-11 at INSEAD, France, has made it to the finals, among London Business School (UK), INSEAD (France), WHU Koblenz Business School (Germany), Imperial College (UK), and EM Lyon (France). It is the second consecutive year that an ALBA student team gets among the finalists of this high caliber European entrepreneurship event. The publicity that was given was extended both in Greece and abroad. The Wall Street Journal (European Edition) interviewed the MBA participants and published a related article in the edition of Tuesday, June 18, 2002. It is the first time in ALBA's history that the School appears in the Wall Street Journal. The same article, entitled ''New MBAs Aim Lower In Gloomy Economy'', has also appeared on Wall Street Journal Online, Career Journal Europe.

The 'MILKLAND SA' team of Gela Adeishvili, Christos Alevizos, Efterpi Effraimidi, Nikoloz Grdzelidze, and Kosmas Nikolaidis, made an outstanding impression at the Competition, by presenting a solid and innovative business plan for the establishment of a new venture in Georgia for the production of fresh pasteurized milk.

The 2002 awards were received by:

Second Runner-Up: London Business School
The Prize for Innovation: The Management School, Imperial College
