The 2015 ALBA Graduation Ceremony took place on December 5, at the Pierce Theatre of The American College of Greece.

This year, 286 MSc and MBA degrees were awarded to the graduating students of the ALBA Programs (in order they were presented): MSc in Finance, MSc in Business for Lawyers, MSc in International Business and Management, MSc in Entrepreneurship, MSc in Risk Management, MSc in Marketing, MSc in Tourism Management, MSc in Strategic HRM, MSc in International Shipping and Finance, MSc in Shipping Management, MBA in Shipping, MBA in Banking and The ALBA MBA.

In her address as the representative of the graduating classes, Ms Foteini Spiliopoulou stated:

“It is my honor and duty today to say farewell and I must admit it makes me sad. Personally, I had a lot of fun this past year so a part of me really hates to go. But all good things must end and the truth is the value of our educational journey comes from applying the things we learn in our business endeavors. And that is where the real fun begins!

In that sense, this celebration is just a pause in our life, a brief moment to celebrate our achievement in order to move forward, knowing that our next steps will bring the gratification and enjoyment of applying ourselves, our hard-earned knowledge and skills, to a real-life environment. I, for one, am fortunate enough to already have that joy in my life.

It may seem strange, me talking about fun and joy, and I don’t mean to play down our hardships. We all know the demanding nature of all ALBA graduate programs! But I was raised with the notion that in order to be successful in life you have to do what you love; and, if you can’t do that, at least find things to love in what it is you actually do! And this is why I felt at home, here at ALBA; because people here understand that education should be enjoyable and it should be applicable.

So, I would like to say thank you to all ALBA faculty and staff for making this educational journey an experience of a life-time.”

The Ceremony was concluded with a short address from Ms Evi Kelepouri, Treasurer of the ALBA Alumni Association and Alumna of the Full Time MBA 12.
