ALBA - SHELL Diploma in Management Studies

SHELL HELLAS S.A., one of the leading global energy companies in Greece, has trusted ALBA for the design and implementation of an eight-month Executive Development Program, titled 'ALBA - SHELL DIPLOMA IN MANAGEMENT STUDIES', for a selected group of middle and upper level executives.

SHELL Hellas has been an ALBA Corporate Member since its foundation in 1992, and an active supporter of its various activities.

The Program was specifically designed to create a fully customized solution, in order to meet the specific needs and challenges of SHELL Hellas and fit the company's strategy, taking into account the values and principles shared by all SHELL companies worldwide.

In the course of the eight-month Program, participants had the opportunity to update themselves on the evolution of concepts and ideas in theory and practice, tools and techniques currently applied in business. At the same time, an in-depth strategic analysis of the current corporate business challenges, led to the integration of examples, case studies and real business issues from the same industry and the company itself, resulting to immediately applicable knowledge, skills and competencies.|

The areas covered were:

• Finance, taught by Dr. A. Charitou, Professor of Finance & Accounting, Chairman, Department of Public & Business Administration, University of Cyprus
• Operations Management, taught by Dr. G. Hadjinicola, Associate Professor of Operations Management Department of Public & Business Administration, University of Cyprus
• Marketing Management,taught by Dr. V. Theoharakis, Assistant Professor of Marketing & Entrepreneurship, ALBA
• Systems Information, taught by Dr. N. Mylonopoulos, Assistant Professor of Information Systems
• Strategy, taught by Dr. A. Athanassopoulos, Associate Professor of Service Operations Management, ALBA & Research Fellow, London Business School, UK, and
• Human Resources Management, taught by Dr. O. Epitropaki, Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior and Human Resources Management, ALBA

A Diploma in Management Studies will be awarded to all participants at a special event, to be held in January 2003. On that occasion, participants will be presenting their group projects, carried out in the course of the Program, to SHELL's top management team.
