Mr. George David received the third ALBA Business unusual Award at a ceremony that took place at Hotel Grande Bretagne, on Monday, November 10; approximately 250 distinguished executives from various sectors of the business world attended.

Every two years the ‘ALBA Business unusual Award’ highlights important activities that have a positive impact on the Greek economy and society and, at the same time, honors exceptional individuals who could serve as role models for personal and professional behavior.

For the third award ALBA decided to focus on Business extroversion of the Greek Entrepreneurs and honor Mr. George David, a visionary who has demonstrated a global mindset.

The Dean, Professor Nickolaos G. Travlos, thanked everyone for their participation and contribution and spoke about the concept of the Business unusual Awards.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of ALBA, Mr. Nikos Ebeoglou spoke about Mr. David personality and gave a personal touch to his speech. At one point he specifically mentioned: “He lives and acts as a citizen of the world with the following extremely important element. He never left his country in order to relocate to another, as many distinguished Greeks have done and who are currently living and working abroad”.

Mr. George David, thanked ALBA for honoring him with the third Business unusual Award and he gave a motivating speech. At a certain point he mentioned:

“We ought to recognize that, apart from the state’s contribution, extroversion is primarily an issue of entrepreneurs and businesses. And by using our simple logic we can recognize that extroversion requires first of all a change in our mentality. To be able to recognize that when you open up in international markets you should be ready for international competition too - ready to follow an international tempo and best practices. No man can face new environments and new demands with outmoded structures, approaches and perceptions. Only by following this mentality can we say that the crisis holds opportunities and that the effort to boost the economy can and will create, with the help of extroversion, new structures and incentives that will enhance development and bring us closer to better days.“
