Program Identity and Scope
Human Resource (HR) management is currently one of the fastest-growing management fields. Organizations are increasingly recognizing the strategic role of human capital for achieving significant business results, sustainable growth and innovation
The ALBA MSc in Strategic HRM is a program aiming at:
(a) shaping a new generation of HR professionals that will act as strategic partners and effectively align people strategies with business strategies, and
(b) helping other professionals with managerial responsibilities become able to strategically manage their organizations' human capital, act as coaches and unleash their people's talents and full potential.
The program provides participants with a solid knowledge of human resource issues and the practical skills to meet the challenges of people management within an international context.
The purpose of this program is to help participants:
- deepen their knowledge and understanding of key issues and get up to date with the latest developments on human resource management in Greece as well as globally;
- acquire practical skills for all core HR functions and become familiar with a variety of HR tools
but most importantly, to shape the
new generation of HR professionals who will have full membership in the top management team as true strategic partners.
More specifically, our vision for our graduates is that of people who:
- will have strategic thinking and understand how to incorporate new patterns of human resource strategy in place of more traditional models of personnel management;
- will be strategic business partners and create sustainable competitive advantage for their firms by learning how to design and implement human resource processes integrated into the organizations' overall strategy;
- will speak the language of the business and will be able to build and deploy critical people competencies that are needed to execute business strategies;
- will have confidence in dealing with complexity and change.
The Program is tailored to the needs of those professionals with a serious commitment to HR who would like to advance their career in the dynamically changing environment of human resources management.

- Benefits and compensation
- Labor relations
- Business Ethics
- Understanding Human Behavior in the Organization
Participants must complete the requirements of 15 courses and 7 workshops. The program commences in Novemberand ends in December of the next year, with the months of July and August reserved as vacation. A short break is scheduled during the Christmas & Easter holidays. Classes meet two weekends per month from 10:00 am - 17:00 pm.
The curriculum covers the latest theoretical knowledge on Strategic HRM issues and the practical skills that are vital for a successful professional career in the field of HR. This will be achieved not only through formal instruction but also through a hands-on manner, with a strong emphasis on workshops and intensive collaboration in teams
